Hydro-Seal 75: Not Just for Basements; Exterior Applications

Although the majority of Hydro-Seal 75 ends up on the insides of basement walls and floors there are many other uses for Hydro-Seal 75 in residential, commercial & industrial applications.

Exterior applications include:
Exterior Foundations: Most houses have some exterior foundation exposed after backfiling. While it is better to seal the exterior of the foundation with Hydro-Seal 75 prior to backfilling, the small amount of foundation showing can be painted with Hydro-Seal 75 for long lasting protection. Hydro-Seal 75 resists peeling, moisture penetration and freeze thaw cycles that can cause cracking or lifting. In most cases just a few gallons will be enough to coat these areas of exposed concrete. With bushes and flowers being watered constantly, waterproofing these areas with Hydro-Seal 75 for extra protection is a great choice.
Block Chimneys: Sealing a block chimney with Hydro-Seal 75 is always a good choice. Block chimneys are porous and can allow moisture and water to penetrate. The application of Hydro-Seal 75 to block chimneys can be done in 1 day and will use only a few gallons in most cases. Plus you can custom color the material to match or contrast paint or siding color.
Masonry Block Buildings: Sealing a masonry block building with Hydro-Seal 75 as a protective coating could add years to the lif of your building. By eliminating moisture intrusion constant freeze/thaw cycles will have less effect on the coating and the block it is applied to. The ability to spray Hydro-Seal 75 with an Airless spray gun (Graco 433 or equall) will allow you to handle all types of masonry buildings, and help you save on labor costs. Hydro-Seal 75 can also be custom pigmented to your desired pastel color.
Issues like leaking, moisture and peeling of coating due to water do not happen when using a true waterproof coating like Hydro-Seal 75.
Coverage of Hydro-Seal 75 will vary depending on what type of block is being covered. Also the porosity of the masonry surface will dictate product coverage. It is alway good to coat a small area to see how much area 1 gallon will cover.
Concrete Steps: Concrete steps can be sealed and patched with Hydro-Seal 75 and Hydro-Seal 75 epoxy mortar. An old deteriorating set of concrete steps can be brought back to life with a couple of coats of Hydro-Seal 75. The application is easy. After washing with TSP or powerwashing steps, 2 coats of Hydro-Seal 75 can be applied with brushes or rollers. Any cracks, holes or voids in concrete steps can be repaired with Hydro-Seal 75 epoxy mortar. It is important to make mortar stiff enough so that it will not slump out of vertical crack. Hydro-Seal 75 Epoxy mortar is made by adding Concrete Sand Mix to mixed Hydro-Seal 75. As the mortar cures it stiffens so it is best to do all the thin cracks 1st with the loose mortar and all the large and vertical cracks last with the stiffened mortar. Apply 2 coats of Hydro-Seal 75 over all patched areas to complete project.
